The Namib Desert in Namibia forms part of the Namib-Naukluft National Park which is the largest game reserve in Africa and considered to be the oldest desert in the world.

He fell, down down the ice his backpack stopped him. He had fallen so far in every breath the glaciar squeeed his chest and he slipped a little further in. His foot nearly came off, he thought a ledge could break his fall. A year gone to naps, so many surgeries, so much time, he is now back in Patagonia.

Deadvlei is a white clay pan located near the more famous salt pan of Sossusvlei, inside the Namib-Naukluft Park in Namibia.

Its name means “dead marsh” and contains the remaining skeletons of the trees, which are believed to be about 900 years old. Though not petrified, the wood does not decompose because it is so dry.
